Job Overview

The Medical Business Unit is part of the Industrial Solutions segment and is a global business unit having several sites, primarily in the U.S. and Europe. The Medical Business Unit is the partner of choice for customers in building devices that save lives. We are currently seeking a Contract Analyst for our global legal team.

The Medical Contract Analyst plays a vital role in our ability to achieve our goals by building and maintaining strong relationships with our customers and Suppliers by negotiating the contracts that govern those relationships. You will be responsible for contract review, negotiation, close-out, extension, and renewal; and communicating contractual changes to all stakeholders. The Contract Analyst leads the process of raising and addressing any contract-related issues that arise, both internally and externally. The successful candidate will partner with a variety of business support functions, including the Law Department, Product Management, Customer Care, Sales, Procurement, Operations, and Quality. The position reports directly to Medical’s Commercial Counsel.

Responsibilities

  • Review, draft, edit, and negotiate contracts with customers assuring alignment with key business points achieving the best possible outcome for TE and the

business unit

  • Support the review of Customer contracting terms and flow downs
  • Partner with various internal stakeholders including the Law Department, Sales, Engineering, Product Management, Procurement, Operations, and Quality

to ensure all appropriate approvals are received prior to execution of a contract

  • Create letters or other documents as they relate to contracts
  • Work with Pricing, Procurement, Finance, and Product Management to compile exhibits for Customer and Supplier contracts
  • Attend meetings/calls with the Law Department, Product Management, Sales, or Procurement teams to identify and address material issues related to

proposed agreements and amendments

  • Review contracts to identify any needed changes or trends and escalate findings to management
  • Partner with Sales, Procurement, and Product Management teams to develop and coordinate strategies for individual customers and suppliers during the

contracting process to ensure successful implementation of contracts, amendments and/or pricing updates

  • Demonstrate effective and regular communication on Customer and Supplier related issues and contract concerns with all stakeholders in the business
  • Review executed contracts to validate and verify contractual information and accountable for the related database administration
  • Ensure all contracts align with internal audit and other compliance requirements
  • Ensure all contract files are current, accurate, and up to date
  • Educate Sales and Procurement and other internal stakeholders on key business points, our contracting process, and how to navigate through the

contracting process

What your background should look like:

  • Juris doctorate from an accredited law school.
  • 5 or more years of relevant work experience including proven experience creating moderately and highly complex customer and supplier contracts.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills with the ability to constructively explain contracts to a variety of stakeholders and effectively work crossfunctionally.
  • Experience in manufacturing, medical devices, in vitro diagnostics (IVD) and/or clinical research organizations (CRO) contracts is highly preferred.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, organization, and ability to execute multiple projects while adhering to deadlines.
  • Ability to draft custom terms and agreements to fit unique circumstances.
  • Strong ability to identify and assess risks and unfavorable terms and provide appropriate guidance to stakeholders to protect TE.
  • Strong personal attributes of integrity, personal accountability and principles that embrace transparency.
  • Ability to work independently in a highly matrixed global organization.
  • Fluency, both oral and written, in English. Candidates with fluency in both English and Spanish are preferred.
