We put our values and our mission front and centre with everything we do, if you want to know more, read about our team and values on our page.About the roleYou will be responsible for running high-quality screening on projects in the Nature-based Solutions (NBS) space, in close collaboration with Abatable’s Origination Team, to ensure effective delivery of projects to the corporates and investors we work with.What you will be doing

  • Responsible for supporting due diligence of carbon projects, with a focus on nature-based projects (a.g. ARR, soil carbon, REDD+, blue carbon)
  • Be the go-to person for technical questions and insights on carbon offsetting methodologies and carbon accounting principles impacting project quality
  • Lead the delivery of independent, science-based, high-quality assessments on project developers and carbon offsetting projects.
  • Actively involved in providing research insights and content as part of Abatable’s market intelligence products and to its corporate and investor clients.
  • Responsible for answering and explaining to the team the outcomes of the research and assessments.
  • Determine methods and approaches to work or projects and establish your work priorities and timelines, as well as those of others collaborating with you.
  • Proactively identifying and establishing research process improvements.
  • Continuously check in with seniors and keep them posted on the progress of projects.
  • Contribute differentiated insights in team conversations by being in the “information flow” and taking an active approach to attending webinars on the concept of high-quality carbon credits and monitoring and reporting methodological developments in space.
  • Actively find opportunities to mentor and upskill the team.
  • Develop your network of external stakeholders relevant to the business and find commercial opportunities to engage in external stakeholder conversations.

What we’re looking for:

  • 3+ years of related experience in direct carbon research or technical background with experience and focus on nature-based solutions and/or biodiversity topics
  • Ability to remain hands-on due to the small nature of the team
  • Have worked in a product lead company
