Fife Coast and Countryside Trust (FCCT) are seeking a Community Tree Planting Officer
(Seasonal) to join our Conservation and Engagement (C&E) team.

Location: The Pitcairn Centre, Moidart Drive, Glenrothes, KY7 6ET
Salary: £28,251 – £31,179
Hours: Full-time, 36 hours per week (including weekend work which is paid
@Time + 1/3)
Contract Type: Fixed Term till end-March 2025

About the role:

The Community Tree Planting Officer will engage with and support communities in planning and
delivering tree planting across Fife so that their efforts make an important contribution to
the exciting new Fife Climate Forest. Reporting to the Fife Climate Forest Community Engagement
Manager and supported by a seasonal assistant, the successful candidate will be part of the
FCCT Conservation and Engagement (C & E) team. Working closely with other partner agencies
including Fife Council, third sector organisations, community groups and volunteers is
essential for success and so we are looking for an excellent collaborator. For further

About you:

We are looking for a driven and proactive individual to join our team. You will bring with you
the following skills and experience.

Essential characteristics (including but not limited to):

  • Educated to SQF level 8, which includes a Higher National Diploma or above in a relevant
    subject.
  • Experience of practical countryside or land management, including tree planting and tree
    care.
  • Ability to work with and co-ordinate a wide variety of people to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Confident leading large (20+) groups with experience of managing and working with
    volunteers.
  • Organisational skills and confidence to take initiative as required.
  • Adaptable and motivational team leader.
  • Experience of delivering projects with a wide range of stakeholder groups.
  • Experience of organising and delivering events in a community setting and with a variety of
    groups.
  • Ability to travel to and work from various locations throughout Fife independently.
  • A good time manager, able to manage competing priorities.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills with a friendly, approachable style.
  • IT Skills (Embrace technology & information), competent with Microsoft suite of
    products and on-line conferencing platforms.
  • Report writing skills.
