The Position

Electrical & Automation Engineer H/F

Job Summary

Role :

PM EMEA & APAC Business Area: 80 sites in 22 countries – 3700 employees – €1.2b revenue. Capex ca 70 M€ per year. The E&A Engineer is a member of the Center of Expertise team (CoE) of the BA. He supports the industrial project managers by leading the electrical & automation engineering part of the projects.

  • Expert in his field

  • Leads several projects in parallel within diverse teams across the BA
  • Travels: up to 40% in Europe for energy assessments
  • Location: any Imerys location in Europe, preferably close to transportation facilities

Responsabilities :

  • Define electrical & automation design of projects under the responsibility of the project manager
  • Help the project manager establish the project cost estimate for the electrical and automation part
  • Ensure design is compliant with Imerys standards, safety protocols, local regulations and local requirements/constraints
  • Ensure design is always optimized in terms of safety, operability, scheduling, long term evolution and costs
  • Establish technical scopes and specifications to fulfill project requirements, participate in the procurement phase together with the purchasing team
  • Analyze and assess technical offers, provide recommendations on supplier’s selection
  • Manage project execution, follow on site works, lead reviews, Factory and Site Acceptance Tests
  • Lead commissioning phases of the electrical and automation part together with local teams
  • Manage costs against project budget in alignment with the project manager
  • Provide feedback, reports and ad hoc documentation
  • Train local teams
  • Key interfaces: BA CoE, BA operations, IT, Purchasing, EHS, contractors

Accountability :

  • Safety on all projects under his/her responsibility
  • Compliance to electrical standards
  • Project delivery on time, in budget, at expected performance

Competencies & Experience

  • Key competencies
  • Electrical engineering background
  • High knowledge in Industrial automation systems – 4.0 skills would be a plus
  • High knowledge in electrical codes and standards
  • Project management skills
  • Comfortable in a multinational environment
  • Continuous Improvement mindset – Focused on targets – Flexible – Team player
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Languages: Fluent spoken and written English + another language
  • Ideal background/ experience
  • Electrical/Automation projects at medium/small scale
  • 10 years of experience managing automation and electrical engineering activities in an industrial environment
