Purpose of the role:

This role is accountable for translating the regional digital transformation strategy, defined by the Sr Manager Digital Transformation EMEA&APAC, into an actionable roadmap for the site Sint-Niklaas. After which the successful execution, implementation and maintenance becomes the Digital Innovation Managers responsibility. The Digital Innovation Manager will play a critical role in leading and managing digital initiatives within the DYMO consumables manufacturing plant, enabling improvements in efficiency, productivity, and cost-effectiveness. The Digital Innovation Manager will support building the regional strategy, by executing POC’s and building digital solution templates, this to maintain and leverage the leading role Dymo has in digital transformation.

Key responsibilities:

  • Part of Plant Leadership team responsible for supporting and extending the digital aspect of production & warehouse processes.

  • Responsible for building out digital workflows to support Dymo departments where possible.

  • Management of the Digital Innovation project teams at the St Nik Site (internal and external project team(s)).

  • Coach and manage local Digital Innovation Engineer(s).

  • Support training of Digital Innovation Engineers from other sites.

  • Oversee the maturing, implementing and maintaining of digital tools and platforms (MES, Andon, Kanban, BI tools) according to established protocols and best practices; do this in a way to supply digital templates for the region.

  • Work closely with the regional Digitisation Sr Manager to translate the regional strategy into actionable plans for the DYMO plant. Then collaborate with the Plant Manager to identify and prioritize digital transformation opportunities within the plant ensuring they support this strategy.

  • Manage and execute proof-of-concept projects for new digital technologies, demonstrating feasibility and value before wider implementation.

  • Secure and manage data related to manufacturing operations, providing access and support to relevant users (for example BI-tool, …).

  • Deliver user training and support on new digital tools and processes, facilitating smooth adoption and maximizing user benefits.

  • Digitalisation and providing connectivity between manufacturing machines and processes to enable the IIOT (Industrial Internet of Things) making data available which is the source of continuous improvement and automation of processes and work towards a paperless manufacturing environment.

  • Stay up-to-date with emerging digital trends, identifying potential applications for the DYMO plant and region.

  • Manage and build working relation with ITSC, IT specialists, Digital Innovation Managers and Digital Transformation specialists.

  • Report regularly to the Sr Manager Digital Transformation EMEA & APAC and Plant Manager, providing updates on project progress, challenges, and opportunities.

  • Safety & Environment & ISO: Comply with existing policies, instructions and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Min bachelor in computer science, business engineering or similar field with 3-5 years experience in Digital Innovation manufacturing environment.

  • Passionate about new digital technologies, industry 4.0 and IIOT trends.

  • Proven experience in leading and executing digital transformation projects within a manufacturing setting.

  • Fluent in English and Dutch, oral and written.

  • Strong interest in manufacturing automation and optimisation.

  • Strong leadership skills and people management skills to be able to work with various functions locally and globally.

  • Excellent communication skills and able to adapt to all levels in an organization.

  • Out-of-the-box thinker with ability to execute operational activities.

  • Strong data management and security awareness.

  • Available for travelling for short periods when required.
