Abbott Diabetes Care Division is looking for a

Manager Strategic Partnerships EMEAP (m/f/d)

based in Wiesbaden, Germany.

The ADC EMEAP Strategic Partnerships Manager is responsible for driving and coordinating efforts to select, establish and launch co-operations with external partners both at product (eg insulin pump integration) and software as a service level (eg data sharing), mainly focussing on software. This requires continuous assessment of the overall business development, future trends and competitive landscape.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Support the ADC EMEAP Strategic Partnerships Manager to select potentially interesting partners, prepare business cases and any required internal documentation to obtain approval to work on a co-operation

  • Work with Senior Strategic Partnerships Manager, global business development and the legal department on negotiation of EMEAP-wide term sheets and contracts with partners

  • Act as point of contact for all internal stakeholders (partner, global BD, EMEAP marketing & commercial, EMEAP affiliates), where marketing remains responsible for co-promotion partnerships

  • Liase with external business partners throughout the whole selection, negotiation and implementation phase

  • Develop and implement selling framework to foster adoption of existing and new data interface capabilities

  • Consult EMEAP affiliates if they seek to establish local partnerships, share best practices on contracting and negotiating with partners

  • Continuously monitor the market for trends that might become relevant for the Diabetes market or that competition is implementing; analyse these findings and provide recommendations to the EMEAP leadership team on how to handle such trends for Abbott Diabetes Care

Your Profile:

  • Relevant business, legal, IT or life-sciences university degree; MBA preferred

  • Knowledge & Experience

  • Previous experience in business development and negotiation of strategic partnerships required

  • At least 3 to 5 years of previous relevant experience, incl data integration projects of cloud based systems, within the medical device or pharmaceutical industry

  • Experience including accomplishments in new market entries, product launches, project management, contract negotiation

  • Knowledge of OAuth 2.0 and JSON formats

  • Knowledge in Health Care or MedTech or Pharma, ideally the Diabetes sector

  • Curious to discover new trends and getting to know new technologies

  • Innovative thinking, analytical skills and ability to build trustworthy relationships with internal and external key stakeholders

  • Excellent ability to communicate with all levels of the organisation, tailoring communication and presentations to a diverse audience

  • Capability to work under pressure in a dynamic environment to deliver on communicated timelines and objectives

  • Displays a desire for continuous learning and development, demonstrating potential for growth and capability of moving on to roles with extended responsibilities

  • Must be fluent in written and spoken English. Knowledge of a second language is desirable

  • The position requires the willingness to travel within Europe, Middle East & Africa and US (approx. 10%)
