The Reward Centre of Excellence operates to deliver best in class global and local compensation and benefit solutions. This role will play a key role in the development in global compensation and benefits projects that deliver a step change in our compensation and benefits practices. As a partner to the Europe markets, you will identify C&B needs and support the function with improvements in appropriate solutions to demonstrate the best possible employee and candidate engagement.

About the role:

This position is the subject matter expert responsible for delivering total reward programs in the Continental Europe market, aligned with our global reward philosophy. It will also lead strategic transformation efforts to achieve significant improvements in our total reward program design and administrative processes.

This role partners with the internal and external collaborators to create and implement the Reward strategy, providing insights and recommendations on investment needed to maintain competitiveness. The role holder will engage, collaborate, and influence Global Reward Operations team, HR Business Partners, HR Directors, Talent Engagement, HR shared services, Payroll and Tax to ensure our compensation and benefits offerings are delivered effectively and in line with our global reward philosophy.

Market / Function Complexity:

  • Support the Continental Europe Reward team to deliver BAU activities across all markets – NE, SE, EE, Hungary, MENA

  • Use knowledge from across the markets to improve and refine processes across all markets.

Key Outputs & Accountabilities:

  • Implements Total Reward Programs by aligning base pay, incentives, benefits, etc., with Diageo’s global reward philosophy and strategy for Continental Europe markets.

  • Strategic Role in Talent Agenda by positioning reward as an enabler of the talent agenda for the market. Ensures competitive and purposeful compensation and benefits offerings that support employees’ needs and align with the global reward philosophy.

  • Provides analytical Insight for ongoing and new compensation and benefits programs. Participates in the design and development of new programs, policies, and principles with a commercial focus to maintain cost competitiveness.

  • Delivers the Annual Reward Cycle (ARC) Process, ensuring consistency across the Continental Europe markets with clear communications. Collaborates with HR Business Partners to provide a positive employee experience during calibration, proposal, and communication stages, and coordinates ARC sign-off with the HR Directors.

  • Administers the annual competitive pay analysis using market data and global pay proposition parameters to develop salary ranges.

  • Leads Pay Equity Audits and Analyses to identify and address discrepancies. Create and implement strategies to promote pay equity and transparency within the Continental Europe markets.

  • Review local Sales Incentive Plan design against the refreshed global framework and finds opportunities to ensure the scheme drives business outcomes.

  • Oversees the Benefits Landscape and Governance Framework while managing the local benefits roadmap for purpose-driven benefits. This includes plan design, administration, compliance, and vendor management, all in alignment with the Global Reward CoE model

  • Enhances Partnership Effectiveness with other areas of Reward and Global Reward Operations to ensure efficiency in reward processes. Acts as the subject matter expert for escalated issues from HR shared services and payroll.

  • Keeps tabs on trends and gold standard across the industry through membership of HR societies, and industry compensation & benefits forums

Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • Degree or professionally qualified

  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and working in Reward across European markets including Germany, Netherlands, Poland, Belgium, Spain, Italy, and France

  • Experience in a multinational, matrix organization, with the ability to understand business strategy and respond to business needs

  • Deep understanding and experience with local market data providers and benchmarking

  • Experience working with external suppliers and vendor management

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to generate insights from data and create action plans

  • Proven track record of engaging, motivating, and influencing partners, building credibility and relationships with line managers, employees, and HR teams, complemented by excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

  • Experience contributing to change programs in a dynamic business environment, embracing change, and taking ownership of driving initiatives with tenacity to ensure successful project completion

  • Advanced computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc.), with familiarity with Workday, Willis Towers Watson’s Global Grading System, and Digital Benefits preferred
