The Director of W&L Operations will be responsible for working closely with relevant teams and departments to deliver a better customer experience, improved margins, and quicker deal to revenue by partnering with sales, operations, customer implementation team members, legal, and business partners

Key Responsibilities:

  • WMS System deployment (Manhattan or others systems as needed to support direct sale, FLEXE, and other partner integration).

  • In Lieu of WMS, work to create intern capacity reporting for W&L to show current storage volume and capacity for new sales.

  • Work closely with appropriate Real Estate on facility and rack timing, utilization, design and future needs.

  • Partner with appropriate teams including, but not limited to, Real Estate, Finance, Sales and Operations to create the multi year Real Estate and Capex strategy that will be presented and reviewed 2x per year.

  • Build upon the current Labor Management Tool and provide guidance on staffing needs for each facility/customer.

  • Use, develop, or create optimization tools to improve margin by creating and setting standard targets.

  • Continue workflow buildout and optimization.

  • Identify Sentinel training needs and work with the team to produce needed training.

  • Provide hiring and staffing assistance and recommend new avenues to recruit.

  • Enable the sales team to focus on selling by taking deals to closure once handed off.

  • Continue to build out dashboard reporting for field leadership.

  • Build out a plan to integrate W&L and Consumer where possible to improve margin and take advantage of labor availability.

  • Assist with developing long-range goals and objectives.

  • Participate in scope confirmation sessions with clients / operations teams.

  • Responsible for external customer relationship management and internal (employee) customer relationship management.

  • Directs, coordinates, and delegates activities of multiple operations to attain goals and objectives.

  • Review analyses of activities, costs, operations, and forecast data to determine progress toward stated goals and objectives.

  • Review and approve/refine W&L contract terms to ensure alignment with business and operational capabilities.

  • Provide insight and support on the profitability of individual account(s) collaborating with commercial, operations and finance as appropriate..

  • Partner with FP&A & Commercial to determine best financial returns for IM in regards to driving higher storage density or moving to more pick/pack space in W&L facilities.

  • Act as a W&L SME and industry expert to help identify new ways to expand operational capabilities in pursuit of growth and operational cost optimization opportunities.

  • Operationalize new opportunities and channels to enable new methods and channels for W&L business growth.

  • Drive strong partnerships, and coordination with local & territory field operations leaders to ensure W&L focus and opportunity closure.

  • Create onboarding material(s) to onboard new partners / customers and align with the implementation team.

  • Ensure H&S regulations are being adhere to and promote safety practices in the workplace.

  • Implement Operational Excellence procedures to optimise efficiency, cost reduction and add value to the customer.

Key Skills, Qualifications, and Competencies:

  • College degree and substantial experience of supply chain / operations, or equivalent work experience without a degree

  • Ability to travel up to 40% of the time

  • Working knowledge of warehousing operations, ideally backed up with operational experience.

  • Analytical thinking and numerical reasoning, while being able to communicate ideas and concepts into logical and easy to understand terms.

  • Excellent communications skills – written and verbal with the ability to interact with internal and external stakeholders and customers.

  • Thorough understanding of markets, competitors and best in class solutions.

  • Can engage and obtain relevant information from internal and external sources

  • Challenging mind to question and validate solutions

  • Initiative, resilience and commercial acumen.

  • Effective project management skills and leadership to achieve key objectives.

  • Time management skills with the ability to keep calm under pressure.

  • Team player, excellent networker and relationship builder.

  • Ability to think conceptually and translate ideas into “real world” solutions.

  • Logistics/operational experience & experience in solution design.

  • Commercial awareness and understanding of key costs and cost drivers within the supply chain.
