Area Registered Building Inspector

Location : North England

Salary: cA£60,000 – A£70,000 per annum + Bonus + Benefits (Negotiable – depending on experience)

The company is a national Registered Building Control Approver, and they support the development of safe & inspirational buildings of the future in accordance with the Building Safety Regulations. They deliver building control solutions (including fire safety, warranty and advisory services) on over 30,000 projects a year in both domestic and commercial buildings, and due to continued growth, they are now seeking two Area Registered Building Inspectors to join the team in the North of England.

The Role

The Area RBI will be joining the business at an exciting time of development and growth and will contribute significantly to the profitable long-term growth of the business. You will be accountable for the consistent application of operational standards in building control, and ensure the business satisfactorily performs its regulatory role as a Registered Building Control Approver. In this role you will be the go-to RBI in a designated area providing guidance and support to other RBI’s whilst also managing a number of projects. You will carry out restricted activities in respect to the evaluation of plans, drawings, and specifications for compliance with applicable requirements of the building regulations, carrying out site inspections through their inspection tools, ensuring all procedures of regulatory and compliance are carried out consistently in relation to defective work on site (including with clients and contractors and all in all ensure all projects are managed effectively from Initial Notice to Final Certificate.

Skills and Qualifications

To be shortlisted for this role you will need a professional qualification/membership through RICS & MCABE or equivalent, hold and maintain appropriate technical Class 2/3 Registered Building Inspector RBI status and be fully conversant with relevant legislation, technical guidance, and the HSE Code of Conduct. They will need to see evidence of a proven track record as a leading Registered Building Inspector with a wide range of experience in the industry and a comprehensive breadth of experience of different types of buildings and projects.
