Offer DescriptionWe are looking for a candidate for a researcher for the Polish Returns project entitled: “Enlightenment-Era Pedagogical Reforms and Arguments against the Gendered Conception of Human Progress in Poland and Germany” carried out by Ph.D. Olga Lenczewska.The candidates have to conform to the conditions stated in art. 113 of Higher Education Law dated 20.07.2018. (Journal of Laws of the Republic of Poland 2023, item 742 with further amendments).Restrictions:

  • The person obtained the doctoral degree in an entity other than the one where the post is planned to be filled.

Key responsibilities:

  • implementation of research tasks in the project related to the analysis of: (1) the practical philosophy of Immanuel Kant, in particular his socio-political philosophy and views on women; (2) feminist writings of the Enlightenment period in Europe; (3) the social, political, economic and educational situation of women in Europe during the Enlightenment.
  • organization and regular participation in research team meetings; cooperation with the principal investigator and other team members aimed at exchanging and developing knowledge in the field of the project and joint work on articles;
  • presenting research results at important academic conferences of national and international range;
  • publishing research results in high-ranking international journals and presses;
  • organisation of seminars, workshops and research visits with the participation of invited scientists.

  • A doctoral degree in the field of philosophy obtained not earlier than 7 years before the year of employment within this project

; * Significant research achievements in the history of modern philosophy (especially Kant), socio-political philosophy, or feminist theory; achievements should be confirmed by publications (publications in English are especially welcome);

  • Very good command of spoken and written English.

This period does not include breaks caused by maternity leave, leave under the conditions of maternity leave, paternal leave, parental leave granted in accordance with the principles stipulated in the provisions of the labour law, or breaks during which sickness benefit or rehabilitation benefit in connection with inability to work, including inability to work as a consequence of an illness necessitating therapeutic rehabilitation, were received.
