The post-holder provides comprehensive administrative support for the department’s research activities.
They are responsible for departmental research publication records and act as Secretary to meetings of the department’s Research and Ethics Committees.About you The skills, knowledge and experience needed for this position are:
Educated to Degree level or equivalent experience
Experience of relevant administrative work in a busy office environment
Experience in the UK HE sector, particularly in research administration
Experience in writing accurate minutes, correspondence and compiling reports to aid decision making
Ability to use standard office software including databases, spreadsheets, word processing, and email
Ability to use web publishing software and update webpages
Ability and willing to learn and use new software and systems quickly
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work effectively under pressure
Ability to work as part of a team or independently as required
Ability to present statistics and data
Good communication skills and ability to relate to people at different levels
Excellent customer service skills
Self-starter and able to self-motivate
Committed to providing a responsive and helpful service
