Offer DescriptionJOB POSITION: PRE-DOCTORAL RESEARCHER (I-PI 71-24)University of Alicante call for applications to cover a fixed-term contractual position as pre-doctoral researcher to collaborate with the project “Multimodal audio-imaging approaches for music transcription” of the University Institute for Computer Research. Reference: I-PI 71-24Funding Agency: Valencia Region Department of Education, Universities and Employment (GV)Reference: CIGRIS/2023/057Within the framework of the Santiago Grisolía Programme included in the Decision of 20 October 2023, of the Valencia Region Department of Education, Universities and Employment, which allocates funding for the 2024 financial year from this programme for the promotion of scientific research, technological development and innovation in the Valencia Region (DOGV of 24 October), and pursuant to the provisions of the regulations governing calls for applications of research staff to cover contractual research positions, approved by the Governing Council of 29 June 2021 (BOUA of 30 June 2021) and with instructions of the University of Alicante Offices of the Registrar and the Comptroller, which establish the mandatory use of electronic means for the submission of applications, documentation, payment of fees, communications, notifications and all other procedures of the selection procedures for the temporary contractual administrative and services staff and research staff and other general applicable regulations, the University of Alicante calls for applications to create a pre-shortlist of candidates to cover a job position, in accordance with the following terms and conditions:First. Number of vacancies and features of the job vacancy1.1. Entering into contract and the terms and conditions thereof will be subject to the receipt of the money from the funding body of the project, the Valencia Region Department of Education, Universities and Employment.1.2. Number of job vacancies: one.1.3. Job position: Pre-doctoral Researcher.1.4. Working hours: 37.5 hours/week in the morning/afternoon sessions.1.5. Remuneration: €1,321.43 gross/monthly for the first and second year of the contract, €1,364.08 gross/monthly for the third year and €1,705.10 gross/monthly for the fourth year, plus extra payments in accordance with the regulations in force, as well as the salary increases approved by law each year.In any case, the remuneration of this contract may not be less than 56% of the salary set for the equivalent categories in the relevant collective bargaining agreements during the first year, 60% during the second year, and 75% during the third and fourth years. Nor may it be less than the minimum interprofessional wage established each year, in accordance with article 27 of the Recast Version of the Workers’ Statute Law1.6. Estimated duration of the contract: 1 year.1.7. The pre-doctoral contract is linked to an additional endowment of 1,600 euros in the first year, devoted to travel and setting-up expenses.In accordance with the provisions of the agreement of the Governing Council of 27 January 2022, which approves the University of Alicante 4th Plan for equal opportunities between women and men, it is hereby stated that there is no under-representation of either gender in the category of Pre-doctoral Researcher.Second. Purpose.The successful applicant will collaborate in the research project “Multimodal audio-imaging approaches for music transcription (CIGRIS/2023/057)”, funded by the Valencia Region Department of Education, Universities and Employment, developing doctoral training in collaboration with the University of Alicante research group Shape Recognition and Artificial Intelligence in order to prepare a doctoral thesis within the scope of this project, carrying out the following research activities:· Study of common formulation for music transcription tasks.· Development of multimodal approaches for music transcription from audio and image.· Development of evaluation protocols.· Multi-task approach analysis.· Creation of a dataset for music transcription from audio and image.Third. Job profile.Preference will be given to:3.1. Applicants with experience and training related to the tasks to be developed in section two and in models based on Deep Learning.3.2. Qualification: official Master’s degree related to Artificial Intelligence.Fourth. Requirements for applicants.Compliance with the requirements listed below must always refer to the date of expiry of the deadline for the submission of applications and must be maintained until the date of entering into the contract.4.1. Hold or be in the process of obtaining the following undergraduate degrees (or equivalent degrees in their country), issued by a university or institution outside the European Union and have completed these studies after 1 January 2019:i) Computer Engineering, Multimedia Engineering, Robotics Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering, or Electronic Engineering:
In the case of applicants who have taken maternity or paternity leave in accordance with the protected provisions included in the general Social Security system or for the care of dependents, in accordance with the provisions of Law 39/2006, of 14 December; or due to temporary incapacity resulting from a serious illness or a situation arising from gender violence, one year will be extended for each maternity or paternity leave or for a situation of the aforementioned, taken after 1 January 2019.For applicants who have devoted themselves to the care of children under six years of age for a period of no less than one year in the four years prior to obtaining the degree, the date of completion of studies shall be extended to 1 January 2016.4.2. Hold or be in the process of obtaining an official Master’s degree for applicants with one of the undergraduate degrees indicated in section 4.14.3. Meet the academic requirements necessary for admission to the PhD programme in Computer Science at the University of Alicante when entering into the contract.4.4. Demonstrate good command of spoken Catalan, Spanish or English adequate for the development of the research work.4.5. Must not already hold or be qualified to hold a PhD awarded by a Spanish or foreign university.4.6. Have not received a fellowship or funding from the Santiago Grisolía Programme.4.7. Be a Spanish national or be in one of the situations listed in article 57 of Royal Legislative Decree 5/2015, of 30 October, which approves the revised text of the Act on the Basic Statute of Public Employees (BOE of 31 October). In the case established in point 4 of this article, when entering into the employment contract, the successful applicant must be a legal resident in Spain.4.8. Be at least 16 years of age and not exceed the maximum compulsory retirement age.4.9. Possess the physical and mental capacities and aptitudes that are necessary for the performance of the corresponding functions or tasks, for which, prior to the signing of the contract, a medical certificate must be provided certifying the possession of said capacities and aptitudes. For these purposes, medical examinations may be carried out through the medical assistance provided by the University of Alicante Occupational Health Service.4.10. Must not have been dismissed by disciplinary proceedings from the service of any of the Public Administrations or of the constitutional or statutory bodies of the Spanish Autonomous Regions, nor have been totally or specially disqualified for public employment by a court decision, for access to the civil service, or to perform duties similar to those performed by non-tenured staff in public administrations, in which they had been dismissed or disqualified.
