Position Overview
The Strategic Finance team for CRH Europe provide financial oversight, evaluation, guidance and direction to optimise CRH Europe’s strategic position and resulting financial performance.
The team operate alongside Strategy and Development, Real Estate, Finance and other business professionals, working closely with business leaders to ensure CRH Europe develops its optimum strategic business plan and delivers financial growth in line with this. The team help to drive the financial plan and maximise EBITDA, margin, RONA and cash returns from the portfolio, ensuring that best value is derived from major investments and development projects across the Division.

This role will report to the Head of Strategic Finance, along with a Senior Manager and Assistant Manager, who together will guide from a financial perspective in three areas:
1)    M&A transactions and business development projects
2)    Portfolio and strategic reviews
3)    Land development strategy and related initiatives

Key Tasks and Responsibilities
We are looking for someone who is passionate about business partnering and strategic finance. This role will partner with Finance, Real Estate / Land Management and Operational Leadership teams across CRH Europe to provide key financial management and business partnering and support with stewardship of CRH’s land assets and liabilities across CRH Europe, including: 

-Developing and delivering a sustainable level of earnings and cash generation in accordance with our strategic business plan.
-Tracking the development pipeline and related accounting, reporting, cash flows and business KPIs; forecasting performance on development projects; and performing regular risk management reviews of the development portfolio.
-Supporting the business planning and reporting cycles (strategic plan, budgets, outlooks and monthly forecasts). 
-Financial evaluation, due diligence on development propositions / partners and advise on deal structuring to maximise returns.
-Managing modelling and financial matters on land sales. 
 

Responsibilities include:

-Support the Real Estate Director, Head of Strategic Finance and Leadership teams in the various countries to develop and deliver the 5-year financial plan for land development portfolio.
-Proactively monitor the pipeline and provide regular updates to Divisional and CRH Europe Leaders including risk assessment of success factors. Provide insightful reporting to challenge and support informed decision making and drive performance.
-Work with local teams to understand and monitor actual and forecast income, costs, cashflows and assets / inventory values on the balance sheet.
-Partner with specialists and agents as necessary in the preparation and collation of technical information to support assets and provision valuations.
-Design and develop resources and templates for use throughout the business to build awareness and consistency in our approach to the financial aspects of Real Estate activities. 
-Liaise with various teams as necessary including Divisional Finance, Accounting & Advisory, Reporting, Risk & Internal Control, Legal and Tax teams, getting input and providing relevant information in a timely manner.
-Support with financial evaluation, land sale proposals and various presentations to senior stakeholders.

Experience / Education
You are/have:

-A qualified accountant with 8+ years PQE
-Experience of senior level financial management
