You will join the NATO Infrastructure Services Centre (NISC), which is accountable for planning and executing the full lifecycle management activities (design, transition and operations) for the identified area of responsibility. NISC provides generic, domain independent, technical functionality that enables and facilitates the operation and use of Information Technology resources.We are looking for three driven and enthusiastic Chief Technicians (Storage and Backup) who will take on the following roles and responsibilities, amongst other:

• Systems design – creates multiple design views to address the concerns of the different stakeholders and to handle functional and non-functional requirements;
• Systems integration and build – provides technical expertise to enable the configuration of system components and equipment for systems testing;
• IT infrastructure – provides technical expertise to enable the correct application of operational procedures and contributes to the planning and implementation of infrastructure maintenance and updates;
• Storage Management – prepares and maintains operational procedures for storage management and monitors capacity, performance, availability and other operational metrics.

• Higher vocational training in a relevant discipline with 4 years post-related experience;
• 4 years’ experience in implementing, operating, upgrading and maintaining of storage and backup infrastructure for large-scale environments;
• In depth practical experience troubleshooting infrastructure related issues, perform regular maintenance;
• Sound practical experience in SAN/NAS network fundamentals (TCP-IP, FC, FCoE, iSCSI, WWN, WWNP, LIFS) with SAN, Unified and NAS storages;
• Sound practical experience in one or more of Enterprise data protection products and/or all-in-one or hyper converged backup appliances such as Veeam, Commvault HyperScale, Netbackup, PowerProtect DP Appliances/Data Manager, Avamar, Networker, Rubrik, etc. and their integration with VMware vCenter;
• Sound practical experience and understanding of application-aware backups of databases (Microsoft SQL, MySQL, Oracle) and applications (Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Exchange);
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
