Job Description:ABOUT THE ROLE AND OUR TEAM:As a Senior Software Engineer you will play an important role in supporting large portions of our B2B Vendor Experience, including improving site reliability, handling inbound support requests, fixing bugs, and communicating the status of tickets and fixes to various stakeholders, helping to ensure the experience presented to our users is the very best it can be!RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with Engineering, Support, Design, and Product to address business-critical issues and opportunities
  • Promote best practices around software design, testing and architecture.
  • Develop test strategies, design automation frameworks, write unit/functional tests to drive up code coverage and automation metrics.
  • Communicate the impact, status and timeline for fixes with various stakeholders (Customer Support, Technical, Sales)
  • You will be developing on a site with very high traffic. Consequently your work will have a great impact.

SUCCESSFUL SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER CANDIDATES HAVE:

  • 6+ years overall engineering experience.
  • 4+ years PHP 7+, alongside a PHP framework (Symfony, Laravel, etc.)
  • Knowledge of other Javascript/CSS
  • Hexagonal architecture.
  • Phpunit code coverage.
  • Error handling Skill (ELK Stack, sumo logic).
  • RESTful APIs and API Communications (Graphql).
  • Experience with software development methodologies and best practices, including TDD, Scrum, VCS best practices.
  • Experience with CI/CD systems such as Jenkins.
  • Experience with RDMS systems such as Postgres, MySQL or similar.
  • Some familiarity with AWS, particularly core services such as EC2 and S3.
  • Some familiarity with document databases such as ElasticSearch.
  • Fluent enough in English to be comfortable communicating and coordinating with teams in multiple geographic locations.
