Liquid Coatings Product Manager EMEA

The GI (General Industrial) Product Manager Liquid Coatings reports directly to the Strategic Product Director EMEAI and has overall responsibility for supporting and assisting the product management functions in Liquid Coatings. You will assist in optimizing the GI EMEAI product portfolio in terms of content and profitability. 

In this role you will also assist in the evaluation, planning and optimization of all GI Industrial Market portfolios including finished goods SKU optimization, product driven cost savings initiatives and manufacturing capacity/capability evaluations. 

Product portfolio management and profitability optimization support: 

• Assist in managing platform analysis projects.
• Conduct financial analysis and assist with the execution of platform optimization projects with the sales and service teams
• Develop reports, platform SKU optimization, formula cost savings and new product development sales tracking

Customer / Sales Support:

• Support value proposition together with Segment Managers to drive sales across the region
• Work with Business Segment Leaders to drive product value recognition throughout the sales Teams
• Be the focus person for any questions about Liquid Coatings and coordinate support between different functions for specific topics regarding finished goods

Project Management:

• Drive strategic projects to improve cost positions and reduce complexity in the business,
• Coordinate product launch phase: 
• Calculate product cost, define economy of scale assumptions
• Identify trial opportunities and consolidate results and testing
• Build product value proposals in line with the segment managers
• Create product selling package with the communication manager
• Organize product field training

Develop and update product data sheets:

• Assist in preparation of Product Data Sheets for new platforms.
• Update PDS for liquid coatings to current specifications and/or changes.
• Degree in Marketing, Business Administration or Chemistry.
• 8-10 years’ progressive professional marketing or business experience, or R&D in applicable market.
• Critical thinking for complex business challenges, with an ability to create sustainable processes.
• Strong communication skills to articulate issues, recommendations, and requirements to other functional partners.
• Demonstrated use of data, analysis, and market knowledge in previous positions. 
• Demonstrated thoroughness and follow-through in previous positions. 
• Persuasive champion for owned solutions and projects capable of generating energy and excitement in coworkers. 
• Familiar with Liquid coating chemistries and raw materials.
• Strong decision-making attitude, to drive complex decision for the portfolio optimization
• Managing multiple brand/product programs.
• Leadership skills – ability to influence across all levels.
