Science Graduate Assistant Position AvailableAre you a recent Science graduate eager to embark on a career in education? Teaching Personnel is delighted to offer an opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic Science Graduate Assistant at an Ofsted-rated ‘Good’ secondary school in Wilmslow. This full-time position starts ASAP and continues until the end of the academic year, with the possibility of the role becoming permanent based on performance.Role Overview:As a Science Graduate Assistant, you will be an integral part of the school’s science department, supporting both students and teaching staff. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Classroom Support: Assisting science teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, ensuring a dynamic and supportive learning environment.
- Individual and Group Support: Providing targeted support to individual students or small groups, particularly those needing additional help to grasp scientific concepts.
- Resource Management: Assisting in the preparation and organization of teaching materials and laboratory equipment, ensuring that practical lessons run smoothly and safely.
- Monitoring and Assessment: Helping to track and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and support to help students achieve their academic potential.
- Behavioural Support: Assisting with classroom management to maintain a focused and respectful learning environment.
- Extra-Curricular Involvement: Supporting and participating in extra-curricular activities, including science clubs, field trips, and other school events.
Requirements:
- A degree in a Science-related field (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or a related discipline).
- A strong interest in education and a desire to contribute positively to student development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- A proactive, flexible, and enthusiastic approach to work.
