This process requires development of novel methods, models and algorithms to support automation of the entire product life-cycle, from the design phase to operational phases. This position will be devoted to research that supports the various facets of model-driven design with an application to cyber-physical systems (for instance supervisory control) and embedded (data processing) systems. We envision the need for compositional methods that focus on extra-functional aspects, such as performance, resource budgets, security, or energy, pursuing hybrid, knowledge-driven and machine-learning-based, approaches.As a newly appointed faculty member, you will be working in the Electronics Systems group at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). The group aims to provide a scientific basis for design trajectories of electronic systems, ranging from digital circuits to cyber-physical systems. You would contribute to our research on model-driven engineering. Next to your research expertise, your educational skills are very important as you will develop and teach courses at both undergraduate and graduate level in English. You will be involved in supervising Bachelor, Master, EngD, and PhD candidates.Electronic Systems group
The Electronic Systems (ES) group consists of six full professors, three associate professors, five assistant professors, several postdocs, approximately 40 EngD and PhD candidates, and support staff. The ES group is world-renowned for its design automation and embedded systems research. Our research is organized in three sub-programs that cover the engineering, system and circuit perspectives: Model-driven engineering, smart electronic systems, and digital nano-electronics. ES has strong collaborations with industry, research institutes and other universities. Several of its staff members have a second affiliation besides their TU/e-ES affiliation. The group is a multi-cultural team, with staff members of seven different nationalities and students from all over the world.Job requirements

  • Motivated researcher, with a PhD in Computer or Electrical Engineering or any other relevant program from a leading university
  • Affinity with modelling techniques and algorithms.
  • System-level thinking capabilities.
  • Hands-on experience with development of research and/or educational prototypes in HW and SW.
  • Ability to conduct high quality academic research, reflected in demonstratable outputs.
  • Ability to teach, demonstrated by experience or assistance in teaching. Informed vision on teaching and learning within your own discipline.
  • Strong cooperation skills and ability to work in an interdisciplinary team.
  • Effective communication and leadership skills, including coaching and mentoring of students and staff.
  • Excellent (written and verbal) proficiency in English.
