Description
Based in Rome, the Guide Manager will report to the Head of Guide Management and work closely with the rest of the Guide Management Italy Team as well as the Destination Manager Italy.Main Responsibilities:Work with existing Guide Management team to understand the company’s tour guide profile, skills and tour coordinator requirements, then to recruit and oversee training and performance of guide communityDevelop and maintain a positive relationship with the guides, representing company values to them and their needs to the companyMaintain and grow a database of available guides.Routinely participate on tours as an observer for quality purposes to ensure we are providing quality experiences for guests.Develop and maintain a successful collaborative relationship with provincial, regional, and national public tourism authorities and be updated with current laws and regulations on issuing of licences.Handle general inquiries from local guides by email or phone, while maintaining a response time within 24 hours, except for urgent matters where immediate responses are required.Hold Hiring and Training guide meetings, team building events, presentations for guide team kick off meetings, training, feedback to improve performance, and follow-up on customer issuesProfile
Requirements:Significant experience in a similar role or Business Development/Hotel Sales.Fluent in English, both spoken and written.Degree in Business Administration, Tourism Business, or another related field is required.Professional, empathetic attitude to represent the company’s and guides’ needs.Ability to build solid relationships at all levels and to motivate.Self-motivated, well-organized, ability to work independently.High attention to detail and analytical, with excellent problem-solving skills.Ability to work quickly and accurately with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and web-based applications.Job Offer
