Senior Scientist (must hold a Doctorate/Ph.D. degree) for a 30-hour/week, permanent position at the Linz Institute for Transformative Change

To address the diverse challenges of our time, bridging the gap between science and societal actors (researchers, citizens, policymakers, businesses, etc.) is more crucial than ever. The new Institute for Transformative Change at Johannes Kepler University aims, among other things, to support responsible technological change and contribute tangible societal benefits. The Impact Lab, as an integral part of LIFT_C, is intended to further anchor this transdisciplinary interaction, particularly at the interface of human and technology, within the university. It aims to be an inspiring space for experimental and transdisciplinary collaboration.
Job Duties:
- Management and coordination of the LIFT_C Impact Lab at Johannes Kepler University Linz
- Independent organization and continuous development of the topic of Impact and Open Innovation in Science
- Contributing to the strategic orientation of LIFT_C
- Coordination and networking with communities of practice within and outside of JKU
- Design and organization of innovative teaching and event formats
- Internal and external communication and management of cooperation partners
- Conception and management of future funding calls
- Close cooperation and networking with other units at the JKU (e.g. Art & Science, Med Campus, LIT, etc.)
- Budget responsibility
Your Qualifications:
- The successful candidate must hold a University degree in business administration or a related field
- Interdisciplinary profile in education, such as a management education (e.g., master’s or MBA degree) combined with another subject (e.g., computer science)
- Technical education in the field of computer science or equivalent qualification is advantageous
- Several years of experience in establishing new areas at universities as well as in implementing projects in the industry
- Experience in the field of Open Innovation in Science and/or Citizen Science
- Experience in organizing, planning, and conducting innovative teaching formats as well as conferences
- Teaching experience in the field of innovation at universities and/or universities of applied sciences
- Experience with lectures and moderations of events
- Participation in EU projects desirable; experience as a jury member and/or evaluator advantageous
- Strong command of German and English (German proficiency level C2, English proficiency level C1)
- Interdisciplinary competence and communication skills with a high level of linguistic articulacy
- Structured and analytical approach, strong implementation skills and a high degree of independence
- High degree of commitment and sense of responsibility
- Affinity for open innovation processes, societal change, digitization, inter- and transdisciplinary, as well as new technologies
- A passion for working in a team, a high level of social skills, and a positive and confident presence
What We Offer:
- On the basis of full-time employment (40 hours/week) the minimum salary in accordance with the collective agreement is € 4,752.30 gross per month (14 x per year, CA Job Grade: B1)
